Introduction.
An ongoing series of essays recently written,
these last couple of years,
by an architect in practice in London,
and that work entirely separate from this,
as means for their own ends of elaborating some intersection of architectural theory & practice and their place at it, an ongoing attempt at articulating an original intuition,
quarter-century ongoing synthesis of personal philosophy of architecture and old concerns lately synopsised under a triptych thus:
pattern, agency & character,
where in agency is freedom, in character identity, and in pattern coherence,
and much in common with or stolen from or suggested by Dutch structuralists, Usonian transcendentalists and sundry others.
